When real estate is bought, a building is thoroughly investigated: legally, financially and technically. That is called due diligence. The digital infrastructure often only gets brief attention.
Digital due diligence focuses precisely on that. Which connections are there? What condition are the cabling and WiFi in? Which building systems are there, and how are they secured? Which contracts are in place? And what needs to be invested to bring the building to the desired level?
That way you know what you are buying, and you can factor it into your offer. Read more about our digital due diligence.
What does this mean for the IT-Label?
Digital due diligence is not part of the IT-Label itself, but it complements it well. You use the same six components, from Connectivity to Smart Building, to assess a building's digital condition. The result indicates which label the building would get now and after improvements. An official IT-Label audit can follow later. See also recertification.
